JANUARY 17, 2023 – Partner Maurizio Savoiardo successfully defended the Village of Sleepy Hollow and individual members of its Board of Trustees against claims of bid rigging, anti- trust violations and tortious inference. Plaintiff claimed that members of the Board engaged in a conspiracy to preclude his construction company from receiving contracts to perform work  for the Village. We argued the tort claims were barred due to Plaintiffâs failure to comply with Notice of Claim requirements, the allegations of conspiracy were speculative, and the anti-trust claims were deficient as Plaintiff could not establish a relevant market. The Court agreed and dismissed the case in its entirety on our pre-answer motion. Associate Richard Epstein was integral to the win.
